Already Launched? Get an Urgent Security Check Before an Attacker Finds the Holes

Many apps go live without a security test, especially MVPs and apps built quickly with AI tools. Automated scanners start probing new sites within hours of them going online, looking for exposed admin panels, leaked keys and known vulnerabilities. You don’t need to panic, but you shouldn’t wait either. This guide covers what to check today, the signs something is already wrong, and what an urgent security check involves.

First-48-hours security priorities for a live app

CheckWhy it’s urgent
Rotate any secret that was ever in front-end code or a public repoLeaked keys are found and abused automatically
Test whether one user can see another user’s dataThe most common and damaging app vulnerability
Lock database and storage rulesOpen tables and buckets can be read or wiped by anyone
MFA on hosting, database, domain, email and codeOne stolen password can take everything
Confirm off-site backups exist and restoreYour only way back from deletion or ransomware
Turn on logging and alertsSo you can see an attack, and investigate one

Why can’t this wait until something goes wrong?

Once an attacker has copied your customer data, you can’t un-leak it. Depending on where your users are, you may have legal duties to notify them and regulators, and you’ll be explaining to customers why their information was exposed. Data that is deleted without a working backup may be gone for good. A security check costs a fraction of any of those outcomes.

What are the warning signs you may already be compromised?

Look for admin or user accounts you didn’t create, unexpected spikes in database reads, API usage or cloud bills, unfamiliar files or code changes, users reporting spam, password reset emails they didn’t request or strange redirects, Google Search Console security warnings, and data that has changed or disappeared. Any of these is a reason to get help immediately rather than investigating alone.

What does an urgent security check include?

An urgent check focuses on the risks most likely to hurt you first. Testers review exposed secrets and configuration, try to reach other users’ data and admin functions, check database and file-storage rules, inspect authentication and password reset, scan for known vulnerable dependencies, and review hosting access and backups. Critical issues are reported as soon as they are found, not at the end of the engagement, so they can be fixed straight away.

After the urgent fixes, a full penetration test covers the rest of the app in depth.

What should you do if the check finds an active breach?

Contain first: revoke compromised keys and sessions, disable affected accounts, and block the route the attacker used, without destroying the logs you need to investigate. Then work out what was accessed, fix the root cause, restore any damaged data from clean backups and get legal advice on notification duties. Following a recognised process, such as NIST’s incident response guidance, keeps a stressful situation organised.

How WebsNexus handles urgent security checks

Tell us your app is live and untested, and we prioritise it. We start with the critical checks above, flag urgent problems the same day we find them, and can fix them directly or guide your developers. Once the app is safe, we can set up monitoring, backups and a maintenance plan so it stays that way.

Urgent security reviews start from $100 and full penetration tests from $800. Message us on WhatsApp at +92 266 379003, and mark it urgent.

Frequently asked questions

How quickly can you start an urgent security check?

We prioritise urgent requests. Message us on WhatsApp with your app link and we’ll confirm a start time, usually within a day or two.

Do I need to take my app offline during the check?

Usually not. Testing is planned to avoid disrupting real users. If we find an active, critical hole, we may recommend disabling one feature until it’s fixed.

What if my app was built with AI tools?

That’s common, and those apps often share the same issues: exposed keys, missing access control and open database rules. We check those first.

How much does an urgent security check cost?

WebsNexus security reviews start from $100 for a focused check, and full penetration tests from $800.
